Coherent preparation of the biexciton state in a semiconductor quantum dot coupled to a metallic nanoparticle

We study the potential for controlled transfer of population to biexciton state a semiconductor quantum dot coupled with metal nanoparticle, under influence an electromagnetic pulse hyperbolic secant shape, and derive analytical solutions density matrix equations, both zero nonzero energy shift. These lead efficient state, various interparticle distances, including relatively small values. In certain cases, when distance between two particles is small, strongly modified because surface plasmons excitons, effect more pronounced shorter pulses. The hybrid snanostructure that we has been proposed generating efficiently polarization-entangled photons, thus successful preparation considered here expected contribute in this line research.
